Semrush and Similarweb overlap less than their names suggest. Semrush is an SEO suite that also covers content and PPC research, and its pricing page lists sites and tracked keywords per plan. Similarweb starts from traffic: every plan estimates visits, engagement and marketing channels for any website, and its SEO tools arrive on the second self-serve plan. Similarweb's self-serve plans include 3 or 6 months of history, and longer history needs a business contract. For an SEO freelancer or agency, Semrush is the closer fit. For market research, investor or competitor traffic analysis, Similarweb covers ground Semrush's SEO plans do not.
